While 5G networks are still being deployed globally, research on 6G is already underway, with Artificial Intelligence at its core.
Unlike previous generations, where AI was integrated later, 6G requires the direct integration of AI and Machine Learning at all levels of the system. However, this integration presents significant challenges, primarily the need for relevant datasets to train AI models. The availability of high-quality 6G data is still limited, and even when new models are developed, testing and validation remain complex without adequate evaluation platforms.
To address these challenges, the 6G-DALI project proposes a framework that harmonizes Data Management with AI development. Its approach is defined by two key elements: the Data Library (DataOps), which collects and organizes network data within a secure 6G Dataspace, and the AI Laboratory (MLOps), which provides an environment dedicated to experimenting with AI models. Additionally, 6G-DALI implements Continuous Monitoring to detect any performance deviations in AI models and automatically trigger Model Updates when necessary.
Once fully operational, 6G-DALI will accelerate 6G research by developing Open Datasets, creating a secure infrastructure for Network Data Sharing, implementing Digital Twin environments for Testing, and defining new frameworks for AI Model Validation.
In this context, CyberEthics Lab. contributes its expertise in Ethical AI Development by applying the ETHAI model, a framework designed to ensure the alignment of AI systems with the European Union’s Ethics Guidelines for Trustworthy AI. This approach enables Technical Partners to integrate Ethical Considerations from the early stages of development, ensuring that 6G Innovation progresses responsibly.
Thus, 6G-DALI is laying the groundwork for future networks capable of connecting billions of devices worldwide, combining Technological Advancement with European values of Privacy, Fairness, and Responsible Innovation.
